Director of the Global Operations Design Program Management Office and Configuration Analysts
U.S. Army

I joined Dell in November 2001 as a Project Manager supporting the State and Local Government sales vertical in the Public segment. Six months later, I was managing. While at Dell, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute in several roles and across multiple organizations. My journey has allowed me to work in Sales Operations, Sales Support Operations, Inside Relationship Sales, Retail Demand Planning, Mobility Demand Planning and Sales Support, Business Development, and Global Operations Program Management. The military prepared me to adjust quickly to an ever-changing environment like the one that exists within the technology industry. My past experiences afforded me the opportunity to learn new skills and processes on-the-fly in order to achieve certain goals. That happens within the Dell culture as well. Those that can adjust and navigate through uncertainties and ambiguity find success and with that success, opportunities to increase their scope and career trajectory.

Dell is a great place to cultivate and grow your career. Much like the military community, we value hard work, sound ethical behavior, dedication, and team work. You will be given opportunities to thrive; your career is what you make it as there are no limits. We have team members that have found their niche within Dell and excel in their roles, daily. We have those that float between organizations to develop skillsets across a broad spectrum. Finally, there are other team members that prefer to climb the corporate ladder and lead our organizations.

Dell supports its veteran community in several ways. The two most important that come to my mind is the Veterans Employee Resource Group (ERG) and the support we provide to our Dell members who are in the Reserves/ National Guard and get deployed for several months. The Veterans ERG, although fairly new but growing, is a Dell-inclusion tool that veterans can leverage to connect with others who have similar backgrounds. It’s also great for networking and career building. Dell supports team members who are in Reserve/ National Guard units that get deployed by ensuring they have the ability to return to their same jobs and pay grade when their deployment is over. Dell also helps by subsidizing the team member’s active duty pay to ensure they are able to take care of their personal finances while deployed.
