Katie has been with Rite Aid for a short time but has grown tremendously through different roles in the company. Katie is now a Store Manager for one of our stores in New York. She ensures the customers are serviced by hiring and training the right people. She makes sure the store is operating smoothly and takes care of the business metrics. Katie loves the constant interaction with customers and employees, and to train and coach employees to excel to the next level from where they are now.
Katie has been in the Military for 10 years and started out as a Pharmacy Technician in the Army Reserves. She believes what she learned was easily transferred to the working world and was how she got her foot in the door at Rite Aid. She was based in Texas and came home to New York to look for a job and applied with Rite Aid. She started as a Pharmacy Technician and transferred in to other roles such as Wellness Ambassador and Assistant Store Manager and then obtained the role she is in today as a Store Manager.
She feels the biggest challenge with coming into the workforce was how relaxed the workforce was compared to the honest and disciplinary military. Katie will be leaving us for a short time to be continue her training in Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. She will be in specialty training at a combat support hospital unit. Her unit will run through practice patient procedures. We wish Katie the best of luck in her training!
