Ed works for one of the Distribution Centers of Rite Aid. He has held different roles including Section Supervisor and Training Supervisor. In his role now, as Safety Manager, Ed oversees safety regulations, safety programs, and workers compensation to make sure the workers in the distribution center are working in a safe environment every day.
He served during the Vietnam War as a Mental Hygiene Specialist in Germany from 1971-1973. After the Vietnam War it was very difficult for veterans to find work. He obtained a position with a company called American Viscoses and had worked for a couple other companies before joining the Rite Aid team. He has been with the company for 29 years.
Ed learned a lot about people while serving in the military which helps in his role today. He loves to work with people and feels “people are your business” and are really important in any company. He also likes working in the distribution center because he gets to face different challenges and wear many different hats. Ed has worked in different areas and has learned so much with Rite Aid.
