Medical Information Specialist, BioLife Plasma Services
U.S. Navy - Senior Enlisted Advisor, Chief Hospital Corpsman

For more than 20 years, I served my country in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, working within the military medical environment. Early on, I became rooted and grounded in the Navy Core Values of “Honor, Courage and Commitment.”

Upon completion of service, the next milestone of my life was to seek a comparable company which shared the integrity, high standards, professional excellence and respect I had grown accustomed to in the military. I found that at Shire. From the interview process through orientation, the transition to my first day as a "civilian” was made easier.

In my current position as a Medical Information Specialist, I investigate donor eligibility criteria for medical conditions and evaluate donor reactions reported for the 100-plus BioLife Plasma Centers. Additionally, I participate in the development of required study documentation and the preparation of clinical study summary reports submitted to various licensing agencies and outside Contract customers.

Obtain a Mentor. Embrace your next milestone of life and keep a positive outlook. A new assignment/transition is an opportunity to excel and extend your professional military knowledge. Change can be good.

Using my military discipline, training, and leadership experiences provided me with a wealth of knowledge and skills that prepared me in transitioning to Shire in my role as a Medical Information Specialist.
