Account Manager
U.S. Army - Captain, Armor (Retired)

My day-to-day duties entail calling telecommunication based companies, developing accounts by setting up meetings, and learning their business challenges. I also develop and advance client relationships by offering and delivering client solutions through a portfolio of IT services. Part of my role is to mentor and train recruiters, create sourcing strategies, and qualify candidates. The most important lesson that has been the major contributor to my success and employment longevity is, teamwork. Every military mission that was successful for me personally was a result of the support my team gave to me. This has been no different in my civilian career. Learning how to compartmentalize life’s daily challenges and establishing work priorities are also two military values that helped me in the business world.

Do your best to make daily relationship deposits with your internal team members, clients, and consultants. If you develop a surplus of relationship capitol with these people, it makes it easier to push your internal team to be better, recruit longer, ask tough questions, and demand more from your clients and consultant when you have to. My boss for years has kicked and hugged me. This has held me accountable, made me a better business professional, and I know that he cares deeply for my success. I do my best to emulate this daily.

Fear- After a pathetic freshman year in college, I was clueless about my plans for the summer and how I would afford school in the fall because of my failed grades. The fear of returning to the town I grew up in and working in the local beef packing plant as a career scared me. I was fortunate enough to meet a great recruiter was truthful; he presented me with options to assist me with financing my education.
Education- Basic and AIT helped develop the discipline need to focus on my academics. After AIT I returned to college. Between TXARNG and working multiple jobs throughout college, I was able to graduate with my bachelors. I later attend OCS and become a commissioned officer. All of the military and college training I received helped prepare me and made me employable.
Success at TEKsystems- The recruiter and sales training TEKsystems provides if applied and adhered to, can make you a very successful business person.
