Our ability to supply the world with safe and effective vaccines depends on the continued successful manufacture and release of bulk material from our Varicella Bulk Manufacturing facility which is used in vaccines for Chickenpox and Shingles. The Technical Support group is a team of dedicated engineers who strive to understand, monitor, and improve our manufacturing process in order to ensure the world supply.

The Technical Support group seeks an individual who is interested in actively monitoring and improving the Varicella Bulk manufacturing process. The individual will have the unique opportunity to learn how live virus vaccines are manufactured and actively participate in projects to meet the Technical Support group goals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Demonstrates strong willingness to learn about live virus vaccine manufacturing
  • Assists/leads with statistical analysis of process and protocol data
  • Authors and executes protocols to support projects
  • Presents results and is able to tailor presentations to various audiences
  • Actively participate in group meetings and projects

Education:
  • Required: Have completed a minimum of (2) years towards a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related Engineering degree program
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of (2) years engineering coursework
  • Available for a minimum of 9-12 weeks during June-August 2017
  • Will be returning to school in the fall of 2017
Preferred Experience:
  • Three years chemical engineering coursework
  • Previous experience in a lab or manufacturing setting
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
