Takeda's summer internship program blends real world experience with an extensive overview of the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience.

The summer internship program is 12 weeks in length and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. Compensation is competitive, and financed temporary housing is available to those who qualify. Our internship program also provides you the opportunity to network with people at Takeda through various planned events and activities.


Support Clinical Pharmacologist in the development and qualification of physiologically based pharmacokinetic models and perform simulations to address clinical pharmacology aspects of drug development. Perform analysis of PK/PD data from oncology drug development projects. In addition, student may be requested to review publications and compile scientific information

With adequate supervision and mentoring, the intern will learn to develop and qualify PBPK models using specialized tools such as SimCYP. These models may be applied to address drug development questions. In addition, the intern may help the clinical pharmacologist compile information from publications. Prior experience with building PBPK models is not required

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited university for the semester before and immediately following the internship.
  • Students enrolled in Pharm D or PhD (preferably in senior year) program with an interest in clinical pharmacology and application of clinical pharmacology principles to drug development. Preferably, students with knowledge on PK principles and hands on PK data analysis (with tools such as WINNONLIN) and knowledge in the areas of drug metabolism, enzyme and transporter mediated drug interaction. Candidates in B.S or M.S program with an interest in clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics may be considered.
May work on the computer for several hours at a time.
