The Wells Fargo Commercial Distribution Finance Controllership Team has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly motivated accounting professional. The Team is focused on business unit accounting and reporting in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, ensuring strong financial controls, and assisting the business with measuring and tracking financial performance.

This Accountant position will be part of the Controllership Team that supports WF Commercial Distribution Finance, a division which specializes in inventory financing for dealerships throughout North America. We are looking for a strong Accountant to add value to the line of business by interpreting and applying accounting guidance, engaging with the internal Risk Team to track and record problem loans, and assisting with complex accounting and reporting for a securitized trust. The Accountant will also be responsible for the completion of monthly account reconciliations, quarterly external SEC and regulatory reporting, and various special projects.

  • Research accounting topics and operationalize solutions in key areas
  • Maintain knowledge of current accounting guidance applicable to the business
  • Participate in problem loan reviews with the Risk Team
  • Coordinate and review the work of one offshore resource
  • Prepare and review financial and regulatory reports
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly investor reports for the securitized trust
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations and certifications
  • Prepare and review journal entries
  • Assist in evaluating the control environment
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned, including acquisitions and system enhancements
Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of accounting experience

Desired Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting
  • CPA-Certified Public Accountant designation
  • Strong accounting skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
  • An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Financial services experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
