The Accounting Associate under the direction of the Finance Manager, performs specialized accounting assignments with the guidance of the direct Manager. Assignments require a thorough knowledge of accounting and compliance with Whitehall Specialties policies and procedures. ¿ Prepare, validate and audit daily product formulation detail.
¿ Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory evaluation
¿ Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories
¿ Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls.
¿ Prepare detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory, liability accounts by customer type
¿ Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analysis and profitability
¿ Assist with internal departmental reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules, etc.
¿ Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedule reporting to management.
¿ Minimum BS degree in Accounting or Finance and 3-5 years relative experience demonstrating increased responsibilities.
¿ Excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
¿ Strong understanding of accounting and finance processes, principles and accounting systems.
¿ Excellent attention to detail with well-developed time management skills.
¿ Ability to function in a dynamic environment, set priorities and multi-task.
¿ Excel spreadsheet excellence.
