Accountemps is looking to full-time an Accounting Clerk for an emerging organization. This Accounting Clerk will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), and general data entry. This is a short term temporary employment opportunity based in the Menlo Park, California area. What you get to do every day - Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a wide collection of sources - Help with control of budgets by monitoring budgets and originating or verifying adjustments and transfers - Broadcast financial information to journals, registers, and ledgers, manually or by electronic equipment - Classify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes - Work with Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance - Standard accounting and administration support: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects - Fix transaction documents, which may require revision of other documents or entries as well as the original; may initiate other actions - Assist Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing - Remedy discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
