Accountemps is looking to hire an Accounting Clerk for a well respected organization in the retail industry. The primary responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk will be assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, and general forms of data entry. This is a long term temporary-to-fulltime position located in the Honolulu, Hawaii area. Your responsibilities as an Accounting Clerk - Upload financial information to journals, registers, and ledgers, via by hand or by electronic equipment - Group documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes - Contribute to Accounts Receivable: help with collection of past due balance, process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt - Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a number of sources - Support Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing - Companywide accounting and administration assistance: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects - Help with control of budgets by monitoring budgets and originating or verifying adjustments and transfers - Rectify transaction documents, which may involve revision of other documents or entries as well as the original; may initiate other actions - Remedy discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
