Accountemps is looking to hire an Accounting Clerk/Human Resource assistant for a well respected organization in the machinery manufacturing industry. The Accounting Clerk will mainly be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long term temporary employment based in the Williamston, Michigan area. Major responsibilities - Contribute to Accounts Receivable: help with collection of past due balance, process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt - Rectify transaction documents, which may involve revision of other documents or entries as well as the original; may initiate other actions - Monitor budgets and originate or verify adjustments and transfers - General accounting and administration support: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing - Assist Human Resources in recruiting - Upload financial information to journals, registers, and ledgers, manually or by electronic equipment - Harmonize discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required - Strong understanding of confidentiality - Assist Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching filing
