Direct accounting responsibilities include the management of all accounting functions including accounts receivable, payable, inventory and audit, maintenance of general ledger, analysis of data and payroll. Prepare monthly reports as required by state and federal regulations; profit-loss statements; and special reports, studies, and analyses. Provides data for year-end audit and preparation of corporate income tax. Train and supervise department staff and management in all phases of financial management. Develop and initiate systems, policies, and procedures for transacting financial matters Ensure that the financial system is accurate, efficient, and in accordance with professional accounting practices and governmental regulations. Control flow of cash and maintain the integrity of accounting output. Monitor inventory levels and advise management regarding variances to budget. Assist with Human Resources functions as needed. For you to be the ideal candidate, you should have the following: Thorough knowledge of Accounting laws and practices. Exceptional communication skills in order to prepare correspondence as well as provide clear and meaningful instructions, guidance and counseling to all employees. A commitment to confidentiality and building trusting relationships with EC Team. Remarkable multitasking and prioritizing skills. At least 3 full years of accounting experience in a hotel or hospitality environment. Be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. At least 3 years working in a hotel environment. Fluency in Spanish would be a plus.
