Staffmark's Professional Services Group is partnering with one of the area's top medical device manufacturing companies in the are in their efforts to identifiy candidates for an Accounting Manager Role. Ideally we are seeking candidates with a strong management backgound out of the Manufacturing sector, medical device preferred. and who also have experience in converting from a manual system to an ERP system, preferably one of the Microsoft Dynamics family. Experience with Lean initiatives would be desired.

Summary:

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for day to day operations and management of all accounting systems and records, including, but not limited to: cash receipts, expenditures, inventory, assets, payroll, financial statements, budgets and forecasts, pricing, and standard costs. Responsibilities include supervising accounting personnel, maintaining the general ledger system and reconciling bank accounts as well as preparing journal entries and overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. The position prepares the annual budget and ensures that the Controller is informed of issues and activities related to accounting system and financial matters. Responsible for multiple divisions.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual finance statements.

  • Prepare journal entries and manage month-end closing.

  • Full company and multiple division's general ledger responsibility.

  • Oversee cycle counting and annual physical inventory.

  • Compare actual costs to standard costs and analyze variances.

  • Review and analyze inventory.

  • Responsible for conformity to all regulatory GAAP, FASB, local, state and federal guidelines.

  • Provide business team support to U.S. operations and foreign affiliated companies.

  • Hold employees accountable and provides direction and supervision in accordance with companies policies and applicable laws.

  • Proactively communicates information to team members and supports them through collective difficulties.

  • Develop individual employee's skills, standards and morale through training and coaching. Direct, support and delegate tasks as appropriate to an individual employee's skill level.

  • Provide consistent and thorough feedback, conduct timely Performance Appraisals, and deliver disciplinary action if necessary.

  • Motivates staff, individually and as a group.

  • Responsible for preparation of annual zero based budget and generating annual standard costs.

  • Preparation of robust inventory analysis (gross inventory and provisions) and serial number tracking to explain variances including inventory turns, EOQ.

  • Reconcile perpetual inventories in ERP system to physical counts located on site and off site, inventory projections and procurement.

  • Enforce internal business controls, policies and procedures.

  • Participate in operational continuous improvement (Lean environment).

  • Coordinate and execute annual company audit to obtain certified audit statements.

  • Work on special projects as required.


  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Business and/or accounting required.

  • 5 - 7 years accounting experience required. Supervisory experience required.

  • Manufacturing experience required.

  • Experience with multiple divisions and companies in an international environment.

  • Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal project management and communication skills necessary.

  • Computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP system required.

  • Proven record of assessing accuracy of accounting data with strong analytics required.

  • Positive attitude and self-motivated.

  • Must be deadline and results oriented.
