Accounts Payable Operational Control Manager
Atlanta, GA

Position Overview
The Operational Control Manager is responsible for the operations and the management of The Coca-Cola Company's payment channels (ACH, Wires, CFX, and check.) and oversight of operational controls related to the Accounts Payable process for our Corporate and North America operations.
This position serves as the Global subject matter expert for all aspects of Payments Operations working closely with the Corporate Treasury, local Treasury, and Tax organizations to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
This role provides internal control guidance and recommendations to process management, and perform reviews of the AP Operations adherence to compliance of SOX requirements. This role interacts with the internal and external audit personnel and is the centralized point of contact for annual audit process.
This role manages a team which is made up of seven individuals responsible for payment disbursements, account reconciliations, 1099 reporting and operational compliance review.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and handle all payment related risk management objectives. Establish, maintain, and promote internal controls (e.g., adherence to Chart of Authority, separation of duties, etc.) to safeguard the Company's assets.
  • Control Environment. Ability to assess current controls to ensure that assets are safeguarded and that transactions are authorized, recorded, and reported. This may include designing and implementing cost-effective systems and procedures properly.
  • Uphold Sarbanes-Oxley and internal control financial standards by documenting and maintaining standard operating procedures, policies, and internal control documentation.
  • Develop and promote internal controls, standards and processes to ensure accuracy and consistency in data used for decision-making, internal/external reporting and communications. Identifies control gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and account balances are accurately stated in accordance with GAAP and Company policy.
Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of international, U.S. or local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This includes the ability to apply these principles and determine compliance with the principles.
  • Control Environment. Ability to assess current controls to ensure that assets are safeguarded and that transactions are authorized, recorded, and reported. This may include designing and implementing cost-effective systems and procedures properly.
  • Customer Focus: Making customers (external and internal) and their needs a primary focus of one's actions; developing and sustaining
    productive customer relationships; creating and executing plans and solutions in collaboration with the customer.
  • Chart of Accounts. Knowledge of and understanding of standard Chart of Accounts. This includes ensuring additions to general ledger are in compliance with Chart of Accounts and transactions are classified in appropriate account.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of management
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work cross functionally with internal and external constituents
Education: Bachelor's Degree required ;Advance degree in Accounting and/or CPA preferred
Related Experience: 5+ years related experience; ERP Experience Required; SAP Preferred
