The ACS Coordinator, under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, shares 24 hour responsibility for administering all aspects of the Stroke and Cardiovascular Patient Care Programs. The ACS Coordinator is responsible for assuring all Joint Commission and Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care standards are met. The ACS Coordinator is responsible for program initiation, development, planning, organizing, implementation, assessment, patient flow, revisions and performance improvement of care processes relevant to the cardiovascular patient population across the continuum of care. He/She coordinates the Cardiovascular Patient Care (ACS) certification. In addition, he/she is responsible for hospital services utilization, community outreach, EMS outreach and education, staff and physician education and training and marketing communications. He/She also monitors the quality performance of the Cardiovascular Patient Care program staff and physicians. He/She will work in collaborate ion with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to review the plan of care for patient population directed by the approved standardized procedures set forth by the medical staff. He/She may perform physical assessments, plan, implement interventions and evaluate the patient's response to therapy under the direction of and in collaboration with the supervising physician or the designated attending physician for the patient population directed by the approved standardized procedures set forth by the medical staff.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Current California RN license.
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiovascular care required.
