Administrative assistant

Adecco Group has an opening for an Administrative Assistant contract position in Durham, NC with a National client. The position could be extended based on work volume and performance.

Administrative Assistant - Durham, NC
Shift: Monday - Friday 8am-5:00pm
Length: 10 months

Pay Rate: $23/hr.

Under limited supervision and acting on own initiative, performs various administrative duties for Executive level Managers, General Managers or Manager of department(s) and associates of the department. A self-starter with strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills in order to manage multiple priorities. Assignments generally involve work of a confidential nature and require a thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of the function, company products, policies and programs.

Job Duties

Assembles and analyzes information; prepares reports, manuals, agendas, correspondence and memorandum as guided by general company practice
Establishes and maintains departmental databases and develops spreadsheets of importance to department
Assists in meeting planning and preparation work needed, i.e., finding meeting locations, drafting agendas and broader communications
Coordinates details of departmental team meetings, regional meetings, district meetings, customer meetings and/or on and off site conferences and events
Prepares materials in final form from very rough and involved drafts which may utilize frequent use of technical terminology and which combines materials from several sources
Manages business travel arrangements, domestic and international
Screens/ redirect calls, takes messages, handles mail
Coordinates activities across departments and follows up to ensure that requests are carried out
Processes expense reports (Concur) and invoices (creating vendors, searching payment in SAP)
Assist Regional / District Managers with on-boarding and off-boarding employees
Interfaces with other assistants to share and coordinate workload
May cross train lower level assistants in the departments
Performing additional accountabilities as required
Able to assist in finding company policies or knowing company policies to answer associates questions


High school diploma with a minimum of 8 years' of relevant experience or Associate's degree with 6 years' relevant experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office PC applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook; other program to be used in job include SAP, SharePoint, YourDoces, Concur Solutions, etc.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Strong interpersonal skills
Highly organized
Able to work with employees at all levels of the organization
