DESCRIPTION
Contacting provider offices to request medical charts in support of HEDIS & QARR reporting processes
documenting all requests in appropriate systems and working with management to overcome any barriers to retrieving medical charts.

This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of administrative support duties in a manner which will ensure the proper functioning of the business unit and enhance the productivity and effectiveness of the department. Incumbents are regularly responsible for dealing professionally with confidential information while performing several aspects of assigned work. Specific tasks may be answering phones, maintaining files, scheduling appointments, producing correspondence, spreadsheets and presentation and otherwise relieving those supported of minor administrative tasks and business deals. Works under general supervision.

The purpose of this position is to process requests for data by adding and correcting entries into a specific database or computer application.

Responsibilities may include the following:
Keeping track of received data and source documents.
Compiling, sorting, interpreting and verifying data to be entered.
Contacting prepares of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies or missing data.
Enter alphabetic, numeric data for source documents into a computer following the format displayed on the screen.
May review error reports and enter corrections into computer.
File and route source documents after entry as appropriate. Respond to inquiries regarding entered data.
Data entry
keeping track of data received
Maintaining files
Scheduling appointments
answering phones
enter corrected data in the computer

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Must be comfortable and skilled using Microsoft Access

Must have experience using MS Outlook for email
Must be comfortable looking up information on the Web
Must have experience using a photocopier or scanner
Must be comfortable making phone calls to physician offices, and speaking and interacting in a professional manner





MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic internet navigation skills are required
Attention to detail is critical
Accuracy of data is critical


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

3 or more years of combined experience as an administrative assistant in healthcare administration.
Experience with medical terminology


WORKING CONDITIONS:

The work is mostly non-confined sitting (employee is free to move about).
Work is conducted on the telephone and computer terminal.
Visual as well as mental concentration requiring the ability to handle situations under stress is applied.
Exposure to risk on the job is limited.
The work environment is mostly clean and comfortable, and may include some annoyances such as noise, odors, and drafts.



Shift Start/End Time: 8:00-5:00
