As an audit professional, you will further expand on your understanding of the property and casualty insurance industry. As an in-charge for audit engagements, you will interact with senior financial and operating management. While offering the opportunity to learn about the front-line field operations of The Hartford, this position limits travel to no more than about two to three weeks per quarter and often less. Internal auditing offers you the opportunity to expand on your financial and analytical skills while gaining a better understanding of the operations as a consultant on business risks and controls. You will be assigned your own laptop and will work with several audit application programs including Archer and ACL (data analysis software).


Advanced Staff Auditor
Responsibilities:
  • The Advanced Staff Auditor will examine key financial, operational and information technology processes and risks
  • Test controls in place to mitigate risks and conclude effectively on test results
  • Identify and evaluate risks and control design and enhancements
  • Successfully participate in audits/projects
  • Produce automated work papers clearly documenting work performed
  • Design extracts of information databases to detect potential issues and/or quantify findings
  • Work independently and in a team environment to maximize performance
  • Demonstrate leadership through engagement and personal development

Senior Auditor
Responsibilities:
  • The Sr. Auditor will be accountable for audits/projects including scoping and planning the review
  • Effectively supervise, evaluate and guide staff
  • Delegate assignments appropriately to audit staff
  • Review automated work papers and provide clear feedback
  • Prepare reports that are clear and concise
  • Help drive team performance
  • Demonstrate leadership through coaching/mentoring other team members and fostering a spirit of continual improvement


Qualifications:
Advanced Staff Auditor
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • 1 - 4 years of experience in Audit
  • Experience understanding risk/control environments
  • Strong critical thinking, communication and analysis skills required
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Travel is limited to no more than two to three weeks per quarter and often less.
Sr. Auditor
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree required
  • 3 - 6 years' experience in Audit
  • Experience understanding risk/control environments
  • Strong MS Office skills required
  • Strong critical thinking, communication and analysis skills required
  • Mastery of competencies and accountabilities at an advanced staff level
  • CPA designation is a plus
