**Advisory Systems Engineer - Washington D.C. Position is **Remote** and the ideal candidate will be based in the **Washington D.C. Metro area; Denver, Colorado or Florida** . The Advisory Systems Engineer will be a seasoned professional with extensive Pre-Sales technical experience supporting long term customer solutions. The individual must have highly developed people and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work quickly and effectively in a dynamic environment. The position requires an individual who has a strong understanding of server, storage, networking and Data Center operations and technologies. Strong technology and effective communication skills are needed to interface with customers, partners, sales management, direct account team’s and fellow employees. The Advisory Systems Engineer will become a "trusted advisor" at their designated customer and augment the Dell account team with sales and technical expertise. This will include providing pre-sales technical consulting tailored to a specific customer's environment and needs. For example, they can serve as pre-deployment specialists engaged in the initial stages of the planning and execution of a large IT project or roll-out. They not only will provide technical air cover for the account team, but use their expertise and knowledge to help steer the customer clear of various pitfalls and obstacles they may encounter. **Role Responsibilities** - Customer RFP support (design, creation, planning, etc) - Architect and Design Data Center Solutions - Introduction and presentation of integrated solutions and advanced technologies - Assist IT departments with large deployments and migrations - Product Life-cycle transition and management - Change Management best practices (Bios, hardware, etc), roadmaps and emerging technology updates - Escalation management, discovery and management of systemic issues - Informal knowledge transfer, discovery of new sales opportunities **Requirements** - 6+ years of IT industry hands-on technology deployment experience desired - Self-motivated and able to be self-directed with minimal supervision - Customer sales or technical solution experience required - Excellent communication skill - Identify and initiate new sales opportunities - Bachelor's degree desired **Preferences** - Extensive Windows Server or Linux experience is mandatory, Vmware, Citrix, SCOM/SCCM, LAN/WAN, Security, SAN/DR experience and knowledge **Company Description** With more than 100,000 team members globally, we promote an environment that is rooted in the entrepreneurial spirit in which the company was founded.
