Adecco Group has an immediate opening for a Database Analyst III/Financial Analyst in a full time 6 to 12 month's immediate hire contract with chance of extension position in Falmouth, ME, 04105 South Portland, ME, 04106, Bedford NH 03110 or Greenville SC 29615 for a world-class financial firm. Onsite only. Pay rate: $60.00 to $63.00/hour W-2.

JOB SUMMARY
Database Analyst III/Financial Analyst Project is requirements gathering and testing at the same time with ability to really understand requirements, asking questions/following up for Tech Team with LOB along with updating spreadsheets, going into data warehouse & testing, running SQL and comparing information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Confirms project requirements by studying user requirements; conferring with others on project team.
Learning and adapting to differences, understanding Tech vs. Business
Documentation of business and data requirements necessary for the build out of the new data warehouse
Testing of data/logic built in the warehouse using sql/TOAD
Role is extremely data focused
Serve as point of contact for requests ranging from moderate to very complex received daily.
Conduct analysis of requests and provide consultative advice to requestors to arrive at effective solution for delivering desired output by applying available departmental tools.
Maintains data dictionary by revising and entering definitions.
Work as part of a project team to coordinate database development and determine project scope and limitations.
Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Maintains user reference by writing and rewriting database descriptions.
Identifies data sources constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents the process.
Define and implement incorporated data standards.
Formulate and recommend to management new and/or modified data policies
Developing governance routines and procedures for post GL adjustments and GL recons
Execute Data quality profiling and perform DQ assessments by developing and executing Business rules


QUALIFICATIONS

Effectively apply available tools (EasyTrieve, PowerSelect, SQL, MS Access, Monarch, File Manager and Visual Basic code)
Promoting Process Improvement
Experience with data - mining, analysis, manipulation, profiling - 5 years
Ability to write SQL - writing for testing purposes
reporting experience
Excellent retention and ability to connect the training to the next project
Experience within the governance/control space
Experience with Metadata, reference data management, Data governance and /or Data Quality
Technical aptitude with understanding of data models, data architecture
Experience as a business user/data manager role within the IBM tool suite that includes IGC and IA - preferred
3+ yrs exp. as an Analyst in the banking industry (preferably in liquidity mgt/Finance/Risk mgt.)
3-5 yrs of experience in analysing & querying complex data using Access, SQL Server & Excel?
Analysis Experience * 5 Yrs.

Data Mining Experience * 5 Yrs.
Data Warehouse business testing experience * 5 Yrs.
Data warehouse concept, multidimensional analysis, reporting tools * 5 Yrs.

Experience or knowledge of Regulatory Reporting Rules and Regulations * Yes
Because of the finance/number based data, person best suited for this role would come from a Financial Analyst type background, with project experience and a good grasp on numbers, financials, etc
