The Finance Analytics & Consulting team within Enterprise Finance and Information Technology (EF&IT) works closely with the business lines to support growth strategies within the Personal Lending Group (PLG) and the Payments, Virtual Solutions and Innovation (PVSI) group. Job Description

This candidate will be responsible for finance analytics supporting Wells Fargo’s growing Personal Lines and Loans business for Origination efforts, Multi-channel marketing financial support, and pricing related strategy support to improve and optimize existing and new product constructs

The candidate will play an active role supporting the business through insightful modeling, advanced consumer analytics, including financial P&L pro-forma cash flow NPV analysis. The candidate will be responsible for financial modeling that support strategy recommendations to improve and optimize product offer constructs including pricing changes and to present these financials in order to obtain required approvals. In addition, the candidate will support projects including financial performance tracking of tests, working with partners in setting up and evaluating tests, conducting behavioral profiling, and customer segmentation.

You will be working closely with partners in Product Management, Marketing, and Risk Management supporting optimization of approval criteria and line assignment and making recommendations for strategy changes. You will play a critical role in supporting the optimization of marketing budget, and producing campaign financials and work with partners to establish strategic initiatives and focus for the company. You will have the opportunity to leverage creative and industry-leading technologies in a fast-paced environment with senior management exposure. This position is focused on driving long-term business growth based on ability to transform data into information which provides strategic insight to management.

The successful candidate will need to have a strong understanding of the business strategy, financial cash flow analysis and credit risk in a Financial Services/ Banking domain. Some experience in manipulating large analytical databases using the SAS programming language is a plus but not required. The candidate needs to have great presentation and writing skills and a strong record in achieving success through partnering. The business you support requires strategies that leverage best practices from both quantitative and judgmental decisioning. Your value will not only come from being able to analyze data, but from thinking creatively and partnering successfully with other stakeholders to implement practical solutions.

The Finance Analytics & Consulting team is a dynamic and exciting group in charge of optimizing and growing Wells Fargo’s income by balancing risk and reward through sophisticated financial modeling and analytical techniques.

Key Factors for Success:

• Track record of building partnership and comfort in discussing and presenting work with senior leaders
• Strong knowledge of financial valuation methodologies, cash flows, capital, and balance sheets
• Must possess strong quantitative and analytic skills, and be comfortable with ambiguity and constant change, yet able to set priorities and execute on projects/assigned deliverables
• Ability to logically structure analytical problems and use effective reasoning skills to evaluate financial opportunities/issues
• Capable of communicating in terms of big picture, but working with close attention to detail and accuracy

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling
