A significant part of this journey involves advancing Global Insights capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the organization as the availability of 21st century data sources increases. Our leadership is looking to transform the function to drive greater objectivity and globally consistent decision-making practices, as well as to enable efficient and effective use of resources. This will be accomplished through accessibility to new and existing data, communicating information and a focused effort to improve return on Insights investment (ROII).

A key differentiator of best-in-class Insights organizations, according to a recent BCG study, is a maniacal focus on ROII. This role will be critical to achieving the goal of increasing ROII globally through the implementation of a systematic approach to budget, knowledge and vendor management. A multi-country/category team within PEP Global Insights has thoroughly investigated a software solution (called the Budget & Knowledge Management Hub) which will be a catalyst in achieving the goal of increased ROII. This role will be expected to support the configuration and roll-out of the Hub and will be critical to the Insights ROII agenda as follows: First, this role will require the individual to strategize, plan and coordinate across the global insights group to maximize the utility of the Hub. Second, s / he will provide critical leadership in advancing the ROII agenda by providing project management support and input for configuration, data gathering and input, as well as for developing budget, knowledge and supplier management processes. Finally, s / he will be tasked with driving the new tool through the Business Units to promote efficiency and effectiveness. This high visibility role will work across levels and geographies to ensure that tool and processes are adopted.

  • Work with the Director, Global Insights Strategy & Communications to develop comprehensive budget, knowledge and supplier management processes, appropriate for implementation globally
  • As Project Manager, work with Sector Insights leaders, country managers and Hub software provider to gather necessary information and configure the system to meet local needs, while ensuring global requirements are met
  • Drive adoption and use of the tool among stakeholders through communication, training and ongoing support, including regular interface with regional system administrators and with the technology supplier to solve issues
  • Influence both Insights leaders and local budget managers to view, use and adopt the system as an enabler to achieving ROII objectives
  • Develop and maintain Hub reports, including global, regional and local financial report templates, as well as system usage metrics
  • Analyze Hub reports and data to identify opportunity areas for ROII improvement (such as duplicative or low value spend) and to enable compliance with SmartSpend guidelines
  • Present findings of analysis to Global and Sector Insights leaders and make recommendations for ROII improvement
  • Develop and execute process for continued system maintenance, including processes to add new users and suppliers (while managing supplier base growth according to SmartSpend guidelines)
  • Embed the use of the Knowledge Management Hub to enable knowledge sharing and lift/shift of existing research to eliminate duplicative efforts, where possible
  • Outside of the Hub tool, develop and implement processes for Global Insights to review new suppliers and technologies that will enhance PepsiCo's ability to develop ground-breaking Insights


  • BA/BS required (Masters preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in an insights, market research/insights/analytics, competitive intelligence, marketing, A&M global procurement or other similar function with demonstrated ability to manage in a complex environment with multiple constituencies
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to develop processes to aid adoption and use of new behaviors and/or tools
  • Strong ability to roll out the new capability and influence thinking and behaviors
  • Highly analytical, motivated, decisive thought leader with excellent managerial skills.
  • Able to influence and work through others to effectively navigate matrixed organization while ensuring that necessary stakeholders are informed
  • Strong communication skills; is able to educate and influence management and senior leaders to act in a desired manner through written and verbal communication, as well as to develop and execute training programs for a global audience
  • Future-oriented thinker with expertise in external practices to ensure the continued evolution of the capability
  • Demonstrates a sense of calmness under periods of uncertainty or change while dealing with stress in a manner that sets the necessary tone for the team and function
