In January 2016, MetLife announced a plan to pursue the separation of a substantial portion of its U.S. Retail segment. Once separated, the new business will be called Brighthouse Financial.

Participation in the internship opportunity on the Annuity Sales Desk will help you develop the practical skills and experience through high-impact selling within the financial services industry. You will work alongside experienced Internal Wholesalers and learn advanced sales techniques, communication skills, and territory management acumen to help you jumpstart your career. With a fast-paced but collaborative environment, Brighthouse Financial is a great place to further your professional development.


This is a 10 week paid internship opportunity available to UNC Charlotte students.  The program begins June 5, 2017 and ends August 11, 2017. Full time opportunities may be made available to qualified applicants as availability allows upon graduation.



  • Participate in departmental orientation and other developmental opportunities offered throughout the program
  • Assist with various initiatives and projects to ensure achievement of departmental goals and objectives
  • Gain exposure to a variety of areas within the business to understand how they fit together to achieve business goals and objectives  
  • Perform various assigned duties that are intended to provide experience and build skills for future development
  • Prepare and deliver a final presentation at close of the internship

  • Strong sales and customer service orientation
