The Application Configuration Specialist I is the working level classification in the series and is distinguished from the next higher, advanced working level of Application Configuration Specialist II by the latter's more independent performance of the more complex work related to application configuration processes, as well as responsibility for training and mentoring new and more entry level Application Configuration Specialists. 1. Performs initial configuration, maintenance and input of provider data for claims adjudication, member association, physician reimbursement and reporting, with duties including but not limited to: • Implementing new and maintaining existing configurations as required by Alliance contracted agreements with providers and members for claims adjudication, physician reimbursement and member services; • Providing impact analyses and making recommendations related to configuration design for benefit data and provider contract data; • Creating, documenting and compiling procedural manuals and mapping documents, such as system-to-operational, financial and clinical designations; and • Assisting with the development of testing plans for all system changes/upgrades and the execution of system tests, includingunit, integration, and regression testing. 2. Assists with the design of process improvements and monitoring of data quality, with duties including but not limited to: • Analyzing, researching and resolving system generated errors; • Assisting with the design of testing protocol; • Designing audit processes to ensure work is accurately implemented to meet business requirements; and • Assisting with system feasibility studies, producing evaluations, and making recommendations based on user requirements and system analysis. 3. Communicates and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, with duties including but not limited to: • Facilitating problem solving discussions with relevant business units and external stakeholders; • Understanding basic Alliance departmental processes, workflows, requisite data and procedures necessary to optimize system designs and recommend process improvements; and • Transforming stakeholder/organizational needs into actionable requirements for the build of data to inform business strategy and management. 4. Performs other duties as assigned.
