Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Analyze business requirements that drive the design of quality technical solutions that align with business and IT strategies. Responsible for daily and future strategic operations and monitoring of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) projects. Analyze and translate business, information, and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve business objectives. Participate and work with the EDI team to identify policies, standards and guidelines. Develop, modify, and maintain EDI/B2B business processes and maps. Deploy solutions from the EDI/B2B test environments to the production environment. Involved in the full systems life cycle, including designing, coding, testing, implementing and supporting application software. Participate in component and data architecture design, technology planning, product evaluation, advanced testing processes and buy vs. build recommendations. Provide end-user support, consultation and subject matter expertise for system development, maintenance and support. Lead major projects/programs providing subject matter expertise and technical direction. Develop work plans or review other work plan timelines. Identify development tasks in support of project planning and estimation. Contribute to strategic planning meetings and provide guidance and expertise on system options, risk, cost vs. benefits, and impact on business processes and goals. Create technical design specifications and assist in sizing technical requirements. Review and advise on technical design specification. Code applications or enterprise-wide software systems using a disciplined development process. Integrate solutions with other applications and platforms outside the framework. Review integration testing plans. Develop convergence plans to meet standards. Contribute to and review deployment plans. Work with Release Management to ensure modules are production-ready. Lead the technical evaluation and selection process for improving application performance by overseeing gap analysis studies, feasible alternative solutions, and recommending and/or approving the scope of modifications. Assist in the development of user guides and training documentation for systems.


Experience and Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field and five years of application programming and analysis experience. Must have five years of experience working with Retail EDI messages in ANSI X12 and EDIFACT standards; working with IBM Sterling B2B software/B2Bi, and Business Process Development and Mapping; performing integration with WTX, Sterling Commerce/GIS/Gentran, or any other leading commercial EDI platform; and working with Value Added Networks, operating system command line (Linux, HP, or Unix), and shell scripting.
