SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER • Overall Responsibilities • Responsible technical position managing enterprise software development projects, processes and governance activities for our Association. Be able to transform IT strategic vision for software applications and architecture into results. • Key Tasks and Responsibilities • Management, direct supervision and evaluation of all assigned staff/contractors; • Coordination, implementation and management of development projects/processes for the IT Dept; • Participate with IT groups (in planning sessions and scrums) to deliver and maintain software solutions; • Oversee the development of new applications through performing code and architecture reviews; • Identify and recommend strategic development goals and policy changes to IT leadership; • Ability and previous experience managing off-shore vendor services; • Other tasks as requested or required. • Skills and Attributes • Strong Interpersonal Skills with an ability to manage up and down within an organization; • Expertise with MS application development stack – C#, ASP.NET; • Expertise with other development technologies – Javascript, Typescript; • Expertise with SOA/Integration technologies and implementations – SOAP, REST, WCF; • Familiarity with IDEs and versioning tools – Visual Studio, SVN; • Familiarity with application design patterns – MVC, MVVM, Factory, Repository; • Familiarity with SQL and data access layer technologies – ADO, EF; • Strong verbal and written communication skills; • Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to make accurate evaluations; • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, as required; • Well organized and flexible, willingness and ability to handle a broad variety of assignments; • Prioritize effectively and meet deadlines; • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. • Experience/ Education • Bachelor's degree in computer science or business administration or the equivalent supplemented by five (5) years on the job training in a similar work environment or related area.
