LAMP Developer (Direct Hire) Our client is seeking a senior software engineer/architect specializing in LAMP stack development and rich JavaScript UI to join our technology team. You help take our industry-leading logistics management software to the next level. This role will be based in our Fort Worth, TX office. RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Write high-quality, standards-compliant object-oriented code, following industry best practices, that is highly extensible and anticipates future needs as much as possible ? Work with Project Manager, VP of Technology, and stakeholders to document requirements and create design specs ? Architect application structure and APIs to allow for ease of use and extensibility ? Balance multiple competing project goals and shifting priorities in an agile environment ? Divide development tasks so that some portions are built yourself, while others are delegated to junior developers. Help developers to understand the requirements and design for the application and the project, to aid in their progress ? Mentor junior developers to help them understand: o upcoming requirements to keep in mind when building code today o architecture and design for existing and future application code and functionality o new technologies being integrated into app o business requirements from various stakeholders ?Engage development team in regular code review exercises to ensure quality, find gaps in expertise, and promote learning and growth ?Refactor legacy code to conform to current best practices and new architecture ?Perform manual testing of your code and others' code ?Write automated functional and unit tests ?Troubleshoot and fix bugs ?Managing Git workflow and tag releases ?Help to manage Agile Scrum development process REQUIREMENTS: ?Experience managing revisions in a DVCS, preferably Git (an active GitHub account would sell your case really well) ?Theoretical and practical understanding of OOP design concepts, and preferably, their implementation in PHP ?Extensive experience with PHP5, or at least, another dynamic language (Python, Perl, Ruby, etc.). ?Experience with JavaScript and jQuery. ?Experience with, or at least some exposure to, jQueryMobile ?Some familiarity with the Bootstrap UI framework. ?Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 ?Experience with MySQL and writing efficient SQL ?Some level of experience administering the LAMP stack (you're not DevOps, but you need to be able to configure your own local dev environment) ?Knowledge of REST APIs (client and server side), XML, and JSON ?Familiarity with design patterns and software engineering best practices Practical understanding of MVC pattern For consideration please email your resume to gus.macias@rht.com
