Farmers Group, Inc. (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Application Subject Matter Expert I to work closely with both the Business partners and IT teams to solicit sound detailed business and technical requirements, build new projects and enhance existing projects, and create the reporting layer through various reporting tools; and provide expertise on reporting performance analysis as well as reports performance tuning. Specific responsibilities include: supporting insurance organization's business intelligence/data warehousing development project focusing on the personal lines and distribution line of business; coordinating with business partners, analysts, and developers to create IT specification documents based on business requirements by designing and developing Building complex Business Object reports; building Tableau dashboards; building novel mobile reporting capabilities and reports; performance tuning of existing applications to improve load run times, resolving bottlenecks, and optimizing applications; coordinating with on and offshore vendor team for task assignments; coding reviews; providing knowledge of transition sessions and maintaining requisite application documentation; providing defect support for existing applications by logging and tracking them; creating and executing Unit Test Case documents for testing the functionality of applications; composing reports and technical explanations; and scheduling of jobs to execute the applications and load data into the warehouse. Position requires occasional travel within the United States.

Position requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field, plus 2 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Jr. Programmer

Analyst or similar position. Experience must include at least 2 years of experience working with: intelligence/data warehousing application development and testing; Reporting Tools; performance tuning of Business Intelligence Reports; relational databases and SQL query writing; the insurance industry and business analysis related to Insurance; and Extraction Transformation and Loading (ETL) tools. Experience must also include working with: OLAP and Data warehousing applications; ETL Tools; root cause analysis; and working with insurance industry's policy processing systems such as Express, Auto, and Fire policy processing system. Must be willing to travel occasionally within the United States.
