The Woodland Hills office of Farmers Group, Inc. seeks an Application Subject Matter Expert II [Business Applications] to provide expertise in the design and functionality of business applications and understand customers/business processes and products and how best they can be supported by the application systems.
Specific duties include: Understand customers processes and products and how they fit within the goals of the business unit; design business workflows, user interface screens, and insurance underwriting rules; work with external systems and services for data exchange; Gathers, cleanses and analyzes data from multiple sources; Review and validate the detailed technical design for business applications provided by the supplier to ensure alignment with business requirements; Validate suppliers estimates; Estimate Rough Order of Magnitude for the level of effort/cost of new application functionality; Perform quality review checks on project deliverables; Act as liaison between Business and IT, as assigned; Support users in building Business Case, including cost / benefit analysis, risk assessment, project scope, and development of a high level plan; Support the implementation activities, troubleshooting system environmental issues; Perform impact analysis of application changes across various components, holding an end-to-end view of the system; and Specify / Recommend Integration and Parallel testing criteria. May require occasional travel within the U.S.
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as a Professional System Analyst or similar position.
