Apps Systems Engineer 5 - Essbase/Exalytics Administrator

Job Description

The Application Infrastructure & Operations team within Enterprise Information Technology (EIT)/Corporate Technology (CT)/Financial Systems & Technology (FS&T) group is seeking a senior Application Systems Engineer 5 (ASE5) to work as an Essbase and Exalytics in support of Essbase BI.

The ASE5 analyzes business requirements and technical specifications to design computer solutions. Works as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction to application support staff in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems. The selected candidate must have experience with installation, configuration and managing Essbase domains. Upgrading and patching software components, troubleshooting and performance monitoring will also be part of this role.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 7 + years of Essbase experience
  • 7+ years of UNIX experience
  • 5+ years of PL/SQL experience
  • 5+ years of application production support experience
  • 5+ years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
  • 7+ years of administration experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with business partners and project managers
  • Knowledge and understanding of project coordination in an IT environment
  • Ability to act as a liaison between the technical design staff and business requester to ensure all requirements are met
  • Experience with Connect:Direct
  • Autosys experience
  • Perl or Shell experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Visio skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Project) skills
  • Hyperion experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with performance monitoring, database and SQL tuning tools such as explain plan, AWR, Grid control or similar technologies.
  • Experience using tools for report generation from action plan to overcome performance issues (example: TOAD).
