Role Value Proposition

The Solution Architect defines the system components, services, technologies, and design required to implement a solution that represents an intersection of elements from MetLife’s Business, Information, Application, and Technology architecture domains, and addresses a specific business opportunity or problem.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in creating, analyzing and review of assigned architecture domain or solution architecture
  • Focused on capability of an architecture domain or solution architecture
  • Assists application development resources in projects as assigned
  • Assists in creation and maintenance of related architecture artifacts
  • Collaborates with other architects to ensure integrity of assigned domain or solution
  • Learns and understands multiple information technologies
  • Assists in the development of horizontal solutions for projects
  • Assists application development teams in validating and implementing proposed solutions
  • Monitors and identifies trends in data usage and opportunities to reduce data redundancy
  • Reviews object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access.

 

Essential Experience and Technical Skills

  • Broad general IT knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • 2+ years of IT experience
  • Effective interpersonal and consultative skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong team player & teachable
  • Prefer:  Working knowledge of systems architecture concepts and principles; hands-on Programming and application development experience with any of the following: Cloud, Big Data, Java, .Net, C#, SOA, Mainframe; and/or demonstrated engineering aptitude
