DePuy Synthes Orthopaedics, Inc., a Unit of DePuy-Synthes, Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting for an Area Vice President, covering the cross selling strategies of the Trauma/ CMF/Joint Reconstruction/ Power Tools in the South Atlantic Area. 
DePuy-Synthes, Inc. develops and markets products under DePuy-Synthes Orthopaedics, Inc., DePuy-Synthes Spine, Inc., Codman & Shurtleff, Inc. and DePuy-Synthes Mitek.  Among these are products for reconstructing damaged or diseased joints; repairing and reconstructing traumatic skeletal injuries; facilitating the treatment of spinal disorders and deformity; surgical treatment of neurological and central nervous system disorders, and sports medicine devices for the treatment of soft tissue injuries. DePuy has three main locations: Warsaw IN, Raynham Ma and Leeds, UK.  DePuy is one of the largest businesses within Johnson & Johnson. 
The Area Vice President, Sales is responsible for the DePuy Synthes portfolio: accountable for leading the overall management of sales strategies, activities, operations, and budgets associated with driving sales for the organization.  The Area Vice President, Sales is responsible for the DePuy Synthes Medical Device Portfolio which includes Trauma, CMF, Joint Reconstruction, Power Tools, and Mitek Sport Medicine. As part of this dynamic team with world class orthopedic products, this candidate would lead sales activities that would result in customer and patient satisfaction while exceeding the sales goals and objectives.
  • Develop and execute powerful selling strategies and strategic sales plans which will help achieve overall DePuy Synthes sales goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate product and procedural knowledge; clinical and procedural excellence, product expertise, and new product introduction experience.
  • Develop, coach, manage, and engage Regional Managers to provide value and leadership to the sales force through superior stakeholder engagement; which includes communicating, influencing, and providing comprehensive solutions.
  • Possess and exhibit vast understanding of the changing market dynamics in healthcare, and understand the responsibility and requirements on the organization to continue to compete as viable player which would include market knowledge of Health Economics and Industry Trends, Customer Segmentation, customer data knowledge and buying process.
  • Lead a portfolio of products, responsible for sales, growth and income targets to improve gross profits, profitability, asset management, and budget management.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Commercial Operations, FAM, and Corporate Accounts to measure and monitor the execution of the go to market models and pricing strategies.
  • Establish relationships with key surgeons; work to leverage potential sales opportunities through learning centers and maximize opportunities available through DePuy Synthes and JnJ Medical Device solutions to drive collaboration.
  • Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one’s job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics, and compliance at all times. 

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a minimum of a BS/BA.  An MBA is preferred. A minimum of 10 years of relevant business experience required paired with a minimum of 3 years of sales management experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership capability including the ability to lead and manage through change.  Excellent listening, written & oral communication skills Excellent organizational skills along with the ability to make sales presentations with positive results are required. Superb strategic planning and project management skills along with excellent documented sales background are required.  The ability to travel as necessary, which may include overnights and/or weekends, is required.  Excellent negotiation skills, Leadership skills, Business Acumen. Demonstrated ability to coach and develop field sales talent. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license issued in the United States and must successfully complete a background investigation, to include a review of your driving record history. The selected candidate is required to live in Atlanta, GA or be willing to relocate into the market place.   The ability to travel related to this role is required (30% - 50%).
