Scheduling Needs: Candidates must know/agree that they could work days, evenings, weekends, nights--at least some of all throughout various schedules. No set schedule. Shifts are 12 hours on week DAYS and weekend NIGHTS; 9/10 hours on week NIGHTS.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Psychiatric assessment & crisis intervention, follow through with disposition in either admission to this facility or referral to other levels of care/facilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Follows CCBH & JCAHO protocols regarding screening, stabilization & disposition of all individuals presenting for Emergency Services
  2. Completes all documentation regarding medical status & disposition in relation to the LifeLine Assessment
  3. Documents all call information appropriately on call tracking sheets, scheduling appointments as appropriate
  4. Performs psychiatric assessments for those presenting for Emergency Psychiatric Services to LifeLine, as well as psychiatric assessments within Coliseum Health System
  5. Consults with psychiatrists as necessary regarding appropriate assessment disposition
  6. Follows CCBH protocol for clinical/administration admission approvals
  7. Follows all state requirements for involuntary admissions
  8. Completes all admission paperwork, computer generated assessments & registrations as appropriate, including securing physicians orders for patients being admitted to the hospital
  9. Follows all CCBH, JCAHO, EMTALA & state/federal requirements for emergency screening & disposition of patients
  10. Contacts managed care companies prn in non-emergent situations to initiate pre-certification for provision of psychiatric services
  11. Participates in department's PI, including initiates ideas and recommendations for department/improvements
  12. Integrates 'Caring Behaviors' in daily interactions with patients, families, staff & MDs
  13. Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care or the services delivered
  14. Attends in-service presentations and completes all mandatory education requirements
  15. Regular, punctual and dependable attendance
  16. Other duties as assigned
  17. Practices, develops and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers .

Qualifications:
Education: Master's Degree in Therapy Field

Licensure/Certification: LMFT, LMP, LPC, LCSW License Preferred; CPR Certified; CPI Certified

Experience: Psychiatric experience preferred
