What you’ll be doing...

The position is responsible for generating sales revenue and, focusing on the acquisition of new accounts (5-399 fleet size) and meeting assigned activity, process and unit/performance goals. This position provides support and assistance to the Sales team in outbound prospecting, presenting product, closing new business and prepares weekly and monthly forecasting for production.

Level of Work:

The position is responsible for leading employees and teams, represents a mid-level tier of professionals with in-depth knowledge and/or a breadth of skills within the sales job family. This position collaborates across teams within their functional area and participates in cross-functional activities. They work independently, under minimal supervision, within pre-established parameters. Viewed as a professional who can be relied upon to take a higher quantity and/or more complex activities and projects, this position mentors entry level and less experienced professionals within the job family. This position deals with complex problems, requiring analysis, evaluation and conceptual thinking to solve. This position makes decisions that immediately impact the assignment and/or the team and have short to medium term impact.

Essential Job Functions:

1.
Plan and prioritize activity and sales pipeline for the small businesses to achieve goals with an emphasis on managing personal time, productivity and accurate forecasting.
2.
Present Fleetmatics capabilities through on site visits at prospects location and web based demonstrations when appropriate.
3.
Partner with prospects and sales management to develop a business case for our solution and present the potential return on investment.
4.
Follow-up on proposals and negotiate contracts with prospective customers.
5.
Develop sales presentations tailored to the needs of individual prospects.
6.
Establish and maintain good relationships with clients, networking groups, partners, professional organizations and the community in order to develop new business.
7.
Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all services offered and awareness of the competition (i.e. - market share, pricing, services offered, etc.).
8.

9.
Complete all required documentation and reporting including call and meeting activity, forecasting and bids and proposals within assigned territory.
10.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for...

Education/License Requirements:
Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related discipline

General Experience Requirements:
Required:
At least 7 years experience selling technical products

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities (e.g. software proficiency, language, project management):
1.
Experience cold calling on small on SMB companies, directly to owners and other key executive decision makers
2.
Proven experience in selling a variety of products and ability to quickly close sales
3.
Ability to quickly identify and target best-selling opportunities in 5-24 fleet range
4.
Ability to articulate customer needs and demands, while providing valuable input regarding competition and consumer requirements
5.
Strong computer and presentation skills (navigating multiple web pages and effectively browsing for key information)
6.
Working knowledge of Microsoft products, CRM as well as the ability to effectively demo all products, both in the field and online within parameters

Working Conditions/Physical Demands (e.g. lifting 50 lbs, travel requirements):
1.
Ability to sit at a desk for the majority of the day and work on a computer and with a desk phone
2.
Required to work in assigned Fleetmatics office each day
