Location: Any Anthem Office
The Associate Actuary will support National Accounts and will be responsible for risk/stop loss applicable to self-funded health plans. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Develops and implements business strategies with the Enterprise Stop Loss Center of Excellence, National Accounts, and all Local business units.
Prepares stop loss rate developments and filings.
Collaborates with Finance Leads, Cost of Care Leads, and Valuation Leads to monitor financials and profitability by line of business.
Prepares and interprets various data analyses and related formulae.
Serves on major, multi-function projects as Actuarial representative.
Organizes and directs the staffing and work flow of the pricing associates supporting all enterprise stop loss rating.
Requires a BS/BA degree; ASA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA); at least 4 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Experience with health care reform, health insurance product development/maintenance, and/or pricing health care insurance are all preferred skill sets.
Working toward FSA designation is also a strong preference.
