Adecco is assisting a local client in recruiting for an experienced Buyer position in Middlefield, CT. Interested candidates will manage purchase orders, review and evaluate suppliers, and provide strategic metrics to assist with inventory control along with cost reductions. Shift: 1st shift, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Pay Rate: $21 / hour

Essential Functions:

1. Maintain databases and reports to provide accurate and timely information with regards to supplier delivery status and projected receipt dates
2. Use material requirements planning (MRP) software to maintain accurate material status dates to enable the communication of production scheduling impacts
3. Review MRP requirements and/or exception messages for assigned items/materials/services and react appropriately to maintain proper inventory levels based on established guidelines for minimizing inventory value while maximizing material availability for production
4. Expedite current deliveries through direct verbal, written or electronic communication methods with suppliers and/or contractors and/or freight companies utilizing open order reports generated through the MRP system or other databases
5. Adjust purchase order dates and/or quantities to enable accurate production scheduling
6. Maintain the production shortage database for part delivery status on a daily basis to support production meetings
7. Prepare, request, distribute, receive and analyze quote packages to include drawings, specifications, computer aided design (CAD) models, or other essential information required to obtain timely and useful quotations from suppliers and/or contractors
8. Work as a liaison with suppliers to achieve the goal of 100% on-time-delivery and quality metrics as well as provide the best value for the company
9. Work independently and within a team on routine and special procurement activities
10. Function with direct supervision
11. Perform other related duties as assigned

- Bachelor's Degree Required
- 3 to 5 years of relatable purchasing experience
- PC experience with Microsoft Office
