The Agency RMBS Unit is part of the Global Structured Products group of MetLife Investments. The Structured Products Group is responsible for an investment portfolio of approximately $75 billion portfolio consisting of ABS, CMBS and RMBS.


The position is responsible for assisting in the trading, research and portfolio strategy for an Agency RMBS portfolio of over $20B. They will contribute to the daily trading and management of Agency RMBS specified pools, Agency CMO’s and Agency TBA’s. The team member will have a key role in developing our Agency RMBS strategy for both MetLife as well as 3rd party-client portfolios.



  • Assist in the daily trading and management of the Agency RMBS portfolio.
  • Develop and execute strategies for existing holdings and new investment opportunities.
  • Contribute to investment strategy development across structured finance teams and MetLife investments overall.
  • Develop and maintain active dialogues with the broker/dealer community as well as internal portfolio managers to identify and execute investment opportunities.
  • Develop an in-depth relative value opinion across Agency RMBS opportunities as well as across competing products.
  • Represent Agency RMBS views/recommendations at internal relative value meetings.


  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Agency RMBS markets
  • Strong interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills. Candidate will need to be able to develop strong relationships across numerous constituencies inside and outside of MetLife.
  • Knowledge of the Agency RMBS market, RMBS structures, and the trading/transaction processes.
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Yieldbook, Blackrock Aladdin, VBA programing and extensive Excel skills.
  • Ability to develop concentration, risk, and scenario reports for Agency RMBS portfolios
  • Knowledge of RMBS accounting principles, insurance company reporting concepts, risk based capital implications preferred
  • CFA or MBA preferred.
