The associate equipment engineer will assists Sr. Engineers in the design, development, fabrication, modification, installation, and/or testing of mechanical parts, components, and equipment. Thoroughly review and understand product specifications, and determine design requirements and scope of work. Generate design concepts in conformance with above, and ensure that adequate studies and analyses are performed to arrive at optimum design configurations. Be proficient in CAD solid modeling to be able to prepare CAD Layouts and detail drawings. Coordinate with the engineering group on preparation of drawings, perform initial engineering drawing check, and approval prior to release. Support verification testing, and coordinate with applicable functional departments. Provide necessary engineering support new hardware fabrication. Interface with all other functional groups and departments as required in the development of the product and/or process design. Performs component and assembly design along with validation testing and documentation of Mechanical hardware to achieve cost, and process requirements. Executes value engineering, new product introduction, and production support projects. Drives the usage of appropriate Lean Product Development tools to support cost effective technical solutions with heavy focus on platform design, reuse and knowledge management.

Provide support for new engineering/manufacturing projects such as process development (Yield and targeting improvement), hands on training, DOE, SPC, engineering studies, technical troubleshooting, Change review process, and validation. Identify, design and implement improvements to machines and tooling to improve quality, increase throughout, reduce scrap, and create cost savings. Design/Coordinate/Implement new engineering projects or improves existing processes. Develop process specifications and writing and executing protocols to support engineering improvements. Ongoing technical support for maintenance, supervisors and technicians for new and existing processes. Analyzes technical data to identify areas for process and machinery improvement and recommends revisions for optimizing performance. Prepare documentation related to procedures, training, work instructions, etc. Work with suppliers to provide goods or services to manufacturing.

Supervises, and/or coordinates the work activities of team members and/or supporting staff. Assists in the design and fabrication of mechanical engineering projects, systems, or equipment. Assists in the development of engineering drawings including plans and specifications. Assists in the troubleshooting of systems and equipment and performs repair under close supervision. Assists in the preparation of project presentations to explain progress of project, which includes preparing routine graphic illustrations, charts and drawings. Requisitions components and supplies for engineering projects, interacting with vendors to obtain price and product information.
