The Associate Product Manager is responsible for supporting primarily the air cooled Chiller product line/segment/family across North America. This person assists more Senior Product Managers and supports optimization of product performance measured through realized margins and market share. This position is based in York, PA.
1. General Product Management
a. Track revenue, costs, profitability and all other relevant Key Performance Indicators of product line
b. Review (and report) assigned market growth as well product volume projections
c. Support preparation of timely and accurate financial plans and forecasts for business planning. Identify major deviations between actual and plan and recommend corrective actions.
d. Understand characteristics and reasons for product success (or shortfall) and recognize opportunities and gaps.
2. Sales & Customer Interface
a. Support product line specific content for sales support, sales training and customer collateral.
b. Provide support to Portfolio Managers as needed with sales and customers.
a. Support core positioning and messaging for product line consistent with overall LOB strategy and JCI Vision/Goals.
b. Support the product managers to ensure a consistent marketing message is communicated (internal and external).
c. Support a full complement of global sales tools (energy analysis programs, system selection tools, etc) needed by the channels to be better positioned to compete in the market.
d. Support promotional activities in industry and professional forums.
e. Support launch plans and ramp down plans for products in accordance with product development schedules and the strategic product roadmap for the product line.
f. Support training program needs and materials in concert with LOB marketing, assigned market support (sales and marketing), and learning and development teams.
4. Product & Strategy Roadmap
a. Support more senior product manager in identifying and implementing actions related to competitive positioning opportunities, identifying product gaps, predicting competitive reactions and planning product development, product line effectiveness and profitability
b. Help maintain product roadmap(s) for Product Line.
c. Support efforts to deliver the products, features, options and sales tools required to feed strategic growth plans both global and regionally focused.
5. Pricing & Costing
a. Support analysis to develop strategic market based pricing
b. Support more senior product manager in price and cost management.
c. Assume special projects to investigate cost issues with operations
d. Assume special projects to investigate market pricing analysis
e. Assure sales tools (i.e. YORKWorks) are accurate and current with proper BTP and price levels for their product line.
6. Business Planning & Competitive Analysis
a. Support programs and efforts to develop product requirements for product extensions, enhancements, options, or new product developments.
b. Support efforts to assemble competitive benchmarking and position needed to support requirements for product development projects.
c. Support development and management of key documents; VSR, competitive analysis, and business plans
d. Support product development projects and the requirements of the product development process.
7. Direct Field Support / Application Engineering / SQ Support
a. Support field sales with applications questions and SQ support when needed / as instructed by more senior product manager. Job Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of Product or Program Management, marketing, or sales experience is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Strong presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
- Candidates must be local to York, PA, or within driving distance.
