UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) is a global leader in the design and manufacture of a variety of aerospace products. Sensors & Integrated Systems (SIS) division is based in Burnsville, MN and we are actively seeking an Associate Software Engineer.
As a Software Engineer, applicant will be developing state of the art user applications for the aircraft data management and video product lines. Applicant will be engaged in full lifecycle development, from concept definition thru customer support. Applicant will have the opportunity to interact with internal and external stakeholders to understand, define and develop required application software functionality to support the aerospace industry. - Software application implementation / coding
- Application modeling - graphical user interfaces and functional logic
- Software documentation

- Software test and verification
All activities are performed in a standard work environment focused on high quality software assets.
Experience/knowledge in developing customer centric applications in a multi-platform, distributed infrastructure preferred. This will include developing applications for tablets, desktops, embedded computers, cloud based systems (AWS, Azure, etc.), and back office servers. Desired technologies include experience in one or more of the following: Web services, Mobile Platform (Windows UWP or iOS), Visual Studio .net, embedded Linux.
Background with higher level languages (including C/C++), operating systems (RTOS, Windows, Linux, iOS), model based development (MBD), graphical user interfaces (UI/UX), requirement engineering is highly desirable.
Internally motivated/self-directed, focus on results, ability to deal with ambiguity, strong team and communication skills.
Previous internship experience preferred.Education:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or associated technical area
