In this position, you will be part of IMCs Audio Systems Engineering team working on digital audio processing solutions for VoLTE voice communications in mobile terminal chips. The audio processing includes for example, voice coders (AMR-NB, AMR-WB and EVS), multi-microphone processing, dereverberation, noise suppression, dynamic range control, echo cancellation, sampling rate conversion, and time domain scaling.
In collaboration with other members of the team you will be involved in all aspects of the development: Testing of algorithms on module level and system level, tuning of the algorithms,
Validate subjective and objective performance using simulation and measurement using phone form factor devices, Define and validate functional specification and KPIs, as well as assessment methodologies. Analyze issues reported from field tests and provide scenarios to resolves these issues, Investigate further enhancement and optimization of algorithms. Support audio integration on customer products
You must have excellent communication and problem solving skills, and you must be able to work in a demanding team-oriented environment.
You must possess a minimum of a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering; a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
5 years of engineering experience in audio processing development or audio measurements.
5 years of programming experience in Matlab and/or C programming languages.
Experience with voice and audio quality analysis and measurement including Hands-on knowledge of working with relevant measurement equipment (CMW, Acqua, Spirent, etc).
Experience with DSP and/or embedded processor code development.
Experience with VoLTE call scenarios
Experience with programming and scripting languages (C, Python, VBA or Matlab)
Familiarity with 3GGP audio standards
Familiarity with objective/subjective speech quality measurement
