Prepares reports of audit findings for business managers, and proposes recommendations for changes as needed. Prepares reports for senior management on larger-scale audit assignments. Participates consultatively in implementing changes to the extent possible. Audit reviews may be conducted in specialized areas, such as insurance, financial products and services, investment portfolios, actuarial, or international operations, requiring specific knowledge pertaining to policies or regulations governing areas being audited.

Job Description

  • Provides technical expertise to audit staff and management to coordinate risk analyses.
  • Compiles key information on business processes and controls.
  • Serves as a liaison to external auditors.
  • Participates in and/or manages projects, completing assigned tasks and responsibilities within the assigned budget and timeline, and explaining variances.
  • Coordinates participation in multiple projects with varying responsibility; communicates with appropriate stakeholders in audit and business leadership groups.
  • Acts as the primary client contact for assigned business(s); communicates results of audit reviews with audit and business management, and recommends methods to remediate control issues.
  • Handles the resolution of critical risk issues with management.
  • Consults with business clients on implementing process improvements and best practices.
  • Tracks and follow up on open issues and key business initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.
  • May provide work direction to other associates on audit assignments.


Required Qualifications

  • 8+ year’s relevant business experience.
  • CIA, CPA or FLMI designation.
  • Possesses advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Audit Standards, IIA standards, accounting and auditing sampling and testing methodologies, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, risk management, and SEC and statutory reporting; also advanced understanding of the financial services industry.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in benchmarking and process improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including listening and interviewing skills.
