Adecco Engineering & Technology is currently recruiting for an ongoing contract Automation Technician Job located in El Segundo, CA. This is with our client, a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices and designing aircraft sensors. This individual must be able to work in a fast paced and flexible environment.
Automation Technician Responsibilities are:
Troubleshoot and repair all mechanical functions, mechanical drive units, industrial hydraulic and pneumatic powers, plumbing architectures, PLC's and ladder diagrams, AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors and switches, motor controls and servo controllers, safety circuits which include E-stops, light curtains, floor mats, safety relays and safety switches. PC knowledge for upgrading troubleshooting and machine functions via touch screen controls and machine operation software (including Omron, Keyence, Allen Bradley Do-More, Direct Logic, C-More & Mitsubishi Programming)
Evaluate equipment for any repairs, enhancements, or upgrades and complete work as needed
Complete preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled, and document finished work
Contact vendors, order parts, and keep inventory of replacement parts on hand for all equipment
Machine implementation including, rigging, leveling, facilities (air, hydraulics, dust collection and safety) along with testing and modifying as needed to prepare machine for production
Reviews project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problems, and possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies
Drafts detail drawing or sketch for drafting room completion or to request parts fabrication by machine, sheet metal or wood shops
Devises, fabrications, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products such as industrial equipment and machinery, power equipment, servo systems, machine tools, and measuring instruments
Sets up and conducts test of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate design proposals for improving equipment performance or other factors, or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control
Analyzes indicated and calculated test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives, and modifies or adjusts equipment to meet specifications
Records test procedure and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or test method.
Two-year certificate from college or technical school or a minimum four years in equivalent experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to trouble shoot and resolve problems related to PLC and electromechanical aspects of manufacturing equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
Ability to troubleshoot under pressure on all lines of production and be able to prioritize the repairs.
Be able to support production independently and be self-motivated.
Ability to read prints including mechanical, fluid power, electrical, and building prints.
Ability to properly use testing equipment including (electrical, mechanical and fluid power).
Broad knowledge of PLC's and electrical principles.
Knowledge of plumbing, machine piping, HVAC and central dust collection.
Knowledge of safety practices such as lockout/tag-out and proper use of PPE.
