The global hosting team is a member of Service Operations is responsible for providing MetLife with world-class stability, availability, and flexibility while enabling technology improvements and cost management aligned with business goals. The capacity role is critical to the efficient execution of the infrastructure provisioning, incident prevention, and ensuring we do not waste MetLife infrastructure resources. The Service Operations organization sits within the Global Technology and Operations (GTO) organization and provides the data center and infrastructure required to run the MetLife applications.


This position leads the Capacity Management function within the Global Hosting organization in the Enterprise Infrastructure and Architecture (EI&A) department at MetLife to prevent outages, optimize the infrastructure environment to minimize our infrastructure spend, and to ensure capacity is provided to support business critical projects.  The role will focus on the forecasting, coordination, capacity incident resolution, demand implementation, and maintenance of the Capacity Management process at MetLife. The role includes tool configuration and dashboard implementation, the associated capacity metrics, and all aspects of related technology, training and program development to optimize MetLife’s infrastructure. 


  • Actively works with the IT business relationship management and business partners on the evaluation of incoming project demand and establishment of timing of project/program initiation based on resource availability and capital acquisition process; Coordinate ordering of additional capacity and decommissioning of infrastructure as required
  • Maintain, deploy, and drive execution of the global framework for Capacity management
  • Expand and maintain Capacity processes and execute capacity related incident management
  • Creates strategies and executable plans to optimize infrastructure utilization to reduce cost while minimizing outages and slowdowns due to capacity constraints with $450 million target pool
  • Conduct risk assessment of potential capacity related outages or inability to meet current demand
  • Overall capacity management ownership for the global infrastructure environments, tracking and reporting on overall utilization and growth or decommissioning. Includes monthly operating reviews, monthly dashboards, input into business reviews and quarterly executive reviews.


  • 10+ years of experience in large, global corporate environment preferably financial services industry; 10+ years of IT Infrastructure
  • Highly skilled at implementing and executing global capacity management processes
  • Strong record of leadership and achievement in global capacity/operations management
  • Proven track record articulating a compelling strategy, developing plans, driving operational processes, and executing Capacity Management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Capacity management processes and technology, including integration of operations changes and related technology and applications projects through Capacity management
  • Proven excellent project management and supervisory skills
  • Bachelor’s degree and related field experience required; Advanced degree preferred.
