Business Development Manager - Sales

My client is a growing international logistics company with offices in Europe, Asia and the United States.
Established 25 years ago.

They have an excellent opportunity for a Business Development Manager inthierr air and ocean forwarding branch in Miami, FL.
We are looking for a person with strong interpersonal and leadership skills who is driven to overachieve.

Key responsibilities of the Business Development Manager are:

Responsible for consulting with customers with a logistics need, including, Import, Export, Air Freight and Ocean Freight services.
Responsible for creating new business through contact with prospective customers in the assigned market
Responsible for selling new services and promoting existing services to new and established customers
Responsible for identifying market trends and competitive rate actions and communicating those trends to the Management team.
Responsible for identifying, targeting, qualifying, and quantifying with directed sales that meet and exceed the business plan forecast
Develop engage and maintain short and long-term forecasts
Achieve Gross profit targets and other company driven targets.
Responsible for issuing and maintaining regional RFQ's and proposals.
Responsible for identifying the competitive service strengths and weaknesses of the company and making recommendations to constantly improve services.
Reporting weekly activities and monthly sales pipeline
Responsible for other duties including: sales presentations, writing sales proposing, implementation, creating and adding to existing marketing materials
Extensive regional travel and occasional National and International travel. The employee must be able to travel locally over 50% of the time and drive a vehicle.
Performs other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS - Only those that meet the following requirements will be considered for this position.

5+ years of applicable experience in International Freight Sales.
Proven record of achieving sales targets
Proven successes in the Trans-Pacific and/or Trans-Atlantic trade lanes
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience required
Operational knowledge of transportation and the logistics industry an advantage
Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Normal working hours for this position are typically Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, however, working beyond these hours may often be required. This position is referred to as a full-time exempt position. This role is based in an office environment with extensive driving for customer visits. For full-time exempt employees, the work schedule is typically 40 hours per work week if the number of hours necessary to complete an assignment exceeds 40 hours during the workweek, the employee is expected to work a reasonable number of additional hours as part of the job requirements.
