The People Data Center (PDC) is designed to deliver powerful game changing insights and facilitating relationships with fans so that we can continually exceed their expectations. We need to blend social listening data, digital analytics, consumer contact center data, PRM data, search data, ratings & reviews data and so much more. This will allow incredible insights that will help out teams go even further in finding new and different ways to surprise and delight our fans. About the role

The PDC Business Analyst is responsible for enabling the discovery and delivery of insights through statistical analysis and data integration; building statistical models and tools to enable self-serve solutions for team members to implement, and inputting advanced analytics into other projects. The ability to deliver a project end to end in which you match passion and imagination with statistical credibility is critical. As a key part of the delivery team for Ben & Jerry’s PDC vision, the PDC Business Analyst will focus on data integration and visualization in a way that enables marketers to act and continually find new ways to exceed the expectations of our fans! The ideal candidate will oversee a pipeline of market research and marketing campaign analysis projects, supported by an analyst. Proactively identify appropriate digital consumer datasets (social, search, e-commerce reviews, etc) and first party data (media spend, sales, distribution, etc) to answer research questions and organize a research plan.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Delivery of end to end projects which sees the discovery of insights via the statistical analysis of multiple data sources and advanced analytics, including media insights & commissioned research.
  • Experience with experimental design, including understanding of proper sampling best practice, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing.
  • Build statistical / machine learning models for service delivery
  • Reviewing project objectives and constructing queries utilizing social listening programs to capture relevant conversation for further analysis
  • Provide support, advice and assistance to teams creating advanced analytics services and techniques that are accessible to those of non-statistical backgrounds


Secondary Responsibilities

  • Guides and up-skills team members, including occasional review of their output
  • Identify candidates for new services or ways-of-working improvements and feed this into a global centre of excellence to drive service improvement
  • Configuration of advanced tools, such as NLP, visualisation etc, where some domain knowledge is required and/or programming skills are a plus


Interfaces


  • Primary delivery responsibility to both Global Ben & Jerry’s and assigned regional projects
  • Will deliver multiple project simultaneously
  • Collaboration with data analyst peers on model development
  • Support the Innovation Lead on new service development
  • Ensure that all outputs are created to a high standard & consistency


Skills & Experience


Given Ben & Jerry’s unique position within Unilever, the ability to build excellent relationships within both Unilever and Ben & Jerry’s will be essential. We are looking for people who can ultimately leverage the marketing excellence and operational effectiveness that is built by Unilever – while preserving the 3 part mission and community of connectivity within Ben & Jerry’s. Having the right energy and attitude to connect both parts of our organisation will be critical for success.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in a related field
  • 3 years of relevant experience in digital marketing and/or market research.
  • Experience working with a cross functional team
  • Experience writing boolean queries in one or more social listening tools, including Brandwatch, Synthesio, Crimson Hexagon, Netbase, Pulsar, Radian6, or Sysomos.
  • Detailed understanding of research methods, digital analytics, and marketing technology with agile project management skills
  • Experience working with marketing analytics data, including Google Analytics, Twitter Analytics, Facebook Insights, Google AdWords, or any similar systems.
  • Statistical / econometric / numerical / engineering / computer science background (degree or equivalent)
  • Experience working with analytical tools (e.g. R, SAS, Python, databases, etc.)
  • Experience with experimental design, including understanding of proper sampling best practice, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing.
  • Data modelling experience
  • Foundational programming / coding skills desirable


Preferred:

  • Experience driving business value from consumer insight
  • Experience co-ordinating the introduction of a new internal service or capability at a major organisation.
  • Interest in one of machine learning, artificial intelligence or natural language processing
  • Passion for the social & digital world and its implications for business
