The Benefits/LOA/401k administrator position is responsible for directing and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, travel and accident plan, flexible spending plan, Leaves of Absence and 401k. This position also provides excellent customer service and quality benefits plans, investigates new benefits programs, improves existing programs, and supervises and monitors benefits administration as well as designs employee benefits plans and provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefits programs.
Implementation and management of Wellness Programs
Responsible for benefit programs, salary continuance, group insurance and related programs
Ensure and design programs meeting budgetary parameters, a market competitive position, and deliver high service levels
Research, analyze and make recommendation regarding emerging benefit practices.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state and regulatory standards & laws governing the benefit programs
Lead analysis and conduct programs for specific areas, such as work life balance, stress, elder care. Also ensure employees maximize use of benefits.
Establish HR metrics and reports to monitor the company's benefit programs
Work with 3 rd party administrator on LOA's develop recommendations when leaves exhausted
Leave of Absence
Ensure company policies & practices meet all leave guidelines (i.e. accruals). Perform regular audits on data from FMLA Source. Contact managers to inquire if employees have returned to work.
Ensure Federal Leave, State Leave, HIPAA, and COBRA compliance through timely employee communications.
Provide Supervisors and Managers with training throughout the year on the basic state and federal leave laws in addition to how they should handle a request for leave. Train all new hires and employees promoted to management level by 1st month of employment.
Respond to employee inquiries within the hour (when possible) due to the sensitive nature of some leave requests.
Monitor and follow-up on all LOA's include updates on return to work dates and notify management of status. Manage FMLA-Source, will have to monitor FMLA leaves between FMLA-Source and Operations Management
Take appropriate actions on LOA's not able to return to work within specified time period

�Bachelors Degree in HR or equivalent; combination of work experience and education will be considered three to five years of related benefits administration experience
Overall Related Experience
�5 to 10 years progressive experience in HR as Benefit/LOA/401k Specialist.
�Experience in leave of absence administration, benefits administration, 401k administration and HR consulting.
�Administration of multi-state benefits for exempt and non-exempt employees.
