**Sr. Big Data Solutions Principal**
Responsible for driving Practice bookings through the Dell EMC field account and services sales teams. Provides sales support and lead proposal scoping and levels of effort with Practice Managers, Program Engagement Managers (if applicable), Lead Consultants, and applicable delivery consultants in order to produce a quality proposal. Partners with the field Account Managers and Client Solutions Director (and/or Managing Client Solutions Director) to maintain coordinated account selling efforts. Partners with the assigned Program Engagement Manager to drive follow-on opportunities within active accounts. Provides sales support in LOE and coordinates the development of Practice responses to an RFP. Transitions work to delivery organization through MP.
**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Recognized expertise in own area within the organization and Dell EMC. Is a lead contributor to their team and the organization as a whole. May get involved in developing, mentoring or coaching others. Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts. May be regarded as 'in-house' expert on specific technologies. Conducts projects requiring additional specialized knowledge. Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Provides input into the GTM strategy and direction to the CTO regarding market place trends. Often works on unusually complex business problems and provides solutions that are highly creative. Uses independent judgment to identify, scope, and propose a diverse range of engagements. Ensure formal contractual mechanisms (i.e. SOW) are established and maintained within active accounts. Define, develop and implement actions according to account plans on selected focused accounts with account teams Develop new business opportunities on focused accounts. Develop new business opportunities on focused accounts. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in failure to reach goals crucial to significant organizational objectives and would profoundly affect the image of the organization. EMC Proven Professional Certification desired. Single point of contact for CSD / MCSD and coordinates sales initiatives in accounts. Serves as organization spokesperson on specialized leads and / pre sales programs. Acts as prime consultant on large account that affect the organizations long-term goals and objectives. Degree or equivalent and 10+ year's business development experience in a consulting and/or professional services environment. Less years required if has relevant Masters or Doctorate qualifications. Ideally possess at least 3 years of experience within area of expertise or specific Practice focus (Telecommunications, Financial Services, Healthcare, etc.) Proposal writing Excel skills - modeling
**TECHNICAL SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
• Ability to analyze data, and create analytical and statistical models that correlate multiple data sets and provide insights that help solve business problems. • Data modeling, and design of statistical algorithms.
• Proficiency in R, SAS and/or other statistical software’s • Proficiency in Tableau, ClickView and/or other visualization tools
• Good Hadoop and Map Reduce experience – HortonWorks or Cloudera
• Strong understanding of machine learning
Solid industry knowledge: Financial Services preferred
Capable for managing the complete lifecycle of a Big Data solution.
• Environmental sizing and determination of necessary technologies and infrastructure architecture to implement a given use case based upon the characteristics and volume of data as well as latency and performance requirements.
• Tuning of various storage technologies.
• Selection of appropriate data storage format(s).
• Tuning of processing scripts.
• Deep knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem including Map Reduce – HortonWorks or Cloudera certification desirable
• Proficiency with Hive, Pig, Flume, Sqoop, HBase, Mahout, Phyton, etc
• Strong knowledge in parallel processing
• Experience designing and/or implementing Data lakes, in both hardware and software configurations
