Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Service Specialist, Teradata for Application Services Big Data Management to be part of a fast-paced, innovative, and highly visible teams building large enterprise Data Warehouse solutions for our Big Data line of business. The position will be located in Providence, RI.

The Teradata Service Specialist role is a client facing, mission critical role that includes consulting with Business Partners to steer requirements, develop solution alternatives, estimates and translating client business requirements into specific technical systems/applications or process designs for large complex DW/BI solutions using an integrated architecture. A key component is also working with and influencing multiple cross functional teams within IT and business on the right solutions, including our Vendor partners.


  • 3+ years of program delivery experience in IT Industry.
  • 2+ years dedicated experience in delivering end to end Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence applications.
  • Experience in end-to-end delivery of high complexity and large scale data warehousing applications leveraging Teradata as primary technology platform
  • Strong technical background in Teradata Engineering principles, practice and solutions delivery with knowledge of relevant technical standards and development/delivery toolsets;
  • World class knowledge of the tool sets around Big Data: specifically, strong delivery experience involving Teradata platform and one or more of AWS Redshift, Hadoop /Cloudera or Informatica technologies.
  • Proven track record in managing multi-geography development teams and working with global business clients
  • Capable of negotiating scope and change management with users and vendors leveraging Agile or Iterative delivery methodologies
  • Ability to take actions within broad goals and direction, operating with latitude to meet business user and organizational objectives
  • Ability to identify and manage potential risk/issues and their solution across multiple deliverables;
  • Thought leadership in ensuring that the overall solution meets user requirements
  • Ability to exceed or meet service delivery metrics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, documentation, and project/task management skills.
  • Solid understanding of data warehouse methodology and BI/Analytics including data modeling, data integration/ETL processes and technologies.
  • Hadoop / CLOUDERA knowledge and/or delivery experience, a plus
  • Experienced in solutions leveraging Informatica and/or Talend Data Integration/ETL & ELT toolsets.
  • Extensive experience in estimating work efforts for complex projects working with Architects, Infrastructure and vendor partner groups
  • Demonstrated ability to translate/communicate complex concepts to peers, business partners and senior leadership.
  • Ability to anticipate user needs and manages user expectations;
  • Experience driving delivery in a matrix environment working with various internal IT partners.
  • Independent, out of the box thinker with ability to drive alternate solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment with short deadlines, interruptions, and multiple tasks/projects occurring simultaneously.
  • Solid understanding of the Product Owner, Scrum Master and Development Team role and User Epic and Story Creation.
  • Experience with JIRA, JIRA Agile and Confluence.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work effectively with teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and a demonstrable bias toward action in service delivery of Teradata portfolio
